Another academic year is here! What does R.I.S.E. have in store for you this term? Here’s a sneak peek…
Hello everyone! It’s officially the end of heatwave season (we hope?!) and the new school year is here…
As the 2026-27 academic year begins, it’s great to be here with you, editing R.I.S.E. Education Magazine. We’re poised at a moment when schools across the UK and beyond are once again preparing for the term ahead, and I’m conscious that, wherever you are, everyone has a huge to-do list to get started on right now!
So, we’ve had a little shake-up staff wise at this end of things, but I’m not a complete stranger here. Many of you will have seen my name on R.I.S.E. over the last few years and some of you will have been in contact with me directly. I’ll be making sure R.I.S.E. continues to connect all of you lovely educators together to reflect on the latest in school life, while bringing you some informative features – and, who knows, maybe even a bit of light-hearted entertainment. 😉
So, what do we have coming up for you this term? We’ll be turning our attention to issues such as the current climate in supply teaching, the issue of young people and gambling, and the AI disadvantage gap. We’ll also have a brand-new series featuring conversations with the organisations doing fabulous work that supports schools and students, a look at how politics is taught – and so much more.
Alongside this, we’ll be keeping you up to date with global education news, book reviews – and, of course, R.I.S.E. wouldn’t be R.I.S.E. without you and your contributions too, so do please get in touch to pitch an idea if you’d like to be involved!
