A new report by GoStudent surveyed teachers, parents and students in six countries (Austria, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the UK) about their insights and thoughts on the future of education.
Technology change is needed
Respondents in all regions agreed that current education models must be changed if students are to be ready to work in hi-tech jobs in the future.
From the subjects in the curriculum, to how students learn, the tools they use and how their progress is assessed, there is widespread agreement that current methods are not making the grade.
AI is a major disruptor
Students are using AI now – whether they’ve been taught to or not. And while many teachers are experimenting with its capabilities, others are waiting for training which has not yet arrived.
The report reveals that students themselves (63%) wish that their teachers knew more about AI – and 59% of parents believe that schools and teachers should be guiding students’ AI use.
