As part of the provision of this site, to both anonymous members of the public and to subscribed members, we operate under the following terms and conditions. These are set out to help provide transparency and also set out expectations for members.

Membership

Subscribing to the R.I.S.E Magazine website ensures that you can be notified of new content (individual articles or the monthly magazine, where applicable) and to access content only made available to subscribing members. To do this, we make use of personal data – and additional information can be found in our Privacy Notice. This ensures a dedicated account is available for you in the form of membership. There is no charge for this and no additional use of your personal data will be made.

When you create an account on our site, you agree to the following conditions:

  1. The account is for individual use and you are solely responsible for the use of it. This includes the security and privacy of your account, any additional information you choose to provide (including sensitive information or passwords).
  2. You will act to ensure that all personal information you provide at registration, or subsequently, is accurate and up to date, and fits within the acceptable use of the site.

These are core to membership of the site and we do reserve the right to terminate and remove your account if you use the site in violation of this agreement, or if used illegally.

While we have a growing, global community access our resources, it is a requirement that we set out the applicable law.

Acceptable use

The education community is built upon mutual respect and understanding, even if agreement is not always there. As such, we do set out some basic conditions to try to make sure that any contributor or member is treated fairly and within the bounds of the law.

Users of the site, whether subscribing members or otherwise, agree to use our site legally and not for any illegal purpose. This means you will not do any of the following:

  1. Harass or mistreat other users of the site, no matter if they are a general user, subscribing member or a contributor.
  2. Violate the rights of any user, member or contributor.
  3. Gain access to the account of any user, member or contributor of this site (including by hacking or other means).

This list of conditions may be added to as part of reasonable protections to others and we hope that it is understood that this is not the limit of acceptable use but an essential baseline.

If there is indication that the site is being used illegally or in violation of these Terms and Conditions, we reserve that right to limit, suspend or terminate your access to our site. We also reserve the right to take and legal steps necessary to prevent access to our site by those involved.

Changes to legislation (severability)

While we do everything we can to ensure that all aspects of these Terms and Conditions are valid and consistent with the applicable laws, if, and provision within the Terms and Conditions is found to be inconsistent or invalid, those provisions will be deemed void and will be removed. All other provisions will not be affected by the removal and the rest of the Terms and Conditions will still be considered valid.

Changes

These Terms and Conditions may be updated and amended from time to time, to ensure that they remain compliant with the law, reflect any changes in the way the site is operated and also the way we expect users to behave on the site. We will notify subscribing members of changes via emails, as well as posting a notice on our site.
